On Tuesday, I came in to help Dr. Roberts centrifuge PCOD blood samples and pippette the blood into tubes which would be sent. We took blood samples from #13 box in the deep freezer labeled: PCOD Tissue Samples Box#2 #21-41. The samples were: 24B, 26B, 28B, 29B, 30B, 33B, 35B, 36B, 37B, and 38B. We then placed them into a small bucket filled with ice to preserve them.

After isolating the samples, we balanced out the 10 samples and centrifuged them for 5:00 minutes at 14000 RPM. The samples were then pipetted (with 200 microliters tips) for the plasma by maintaining contact with the liquid and disregarding the solids that accumulated at the bottom. Ten tubes were labeled with the same name as the samples they were derived from. The blood plasma was then pippetted into the newly-labeled tubes. The original samples were put onto the ice and the returned back to their original spots in the deep freezer, while the plasma samples were put into a box to be sent.
